1. Đại cương

– Bệnh lý trong lồng ngực dưới dạng nốt nhỏ hay u ở nhu mô phổi rất thường gặp, bao gồm các tổn thương dạng nốt nhỏ hay u trong nhu mô phổi. Việc xác định bản chất của những tổn thương này đôi khi gây khó khăn cho việc điều trị vì nguyên nhân tổn thương khá đa dạng, có thể lành tính hay ác tính.
– Nhận diện được tổn thương ác tính ở giai đoạn sớm làm cho kết quả điều trị khả quan hơn rất nhiều, đặc biệt đối với ung thư phổi. Tại Việt Nam, ung thư phổi chiếm vị trí thứ nhất ở nam giới, thứ ba ở nữ giới. Bệnh nhân khi đến bệnh viện đa số khi phát hiện hầu hết trong giai đoạn muộn chiếm 55%, di căn hạch vùng 25%, chỉ có 15% bệnh nhân có thương tổn khu trú tại chỗ.
